Preferred lancet

This lancet is a favorite of both myself and my midwifery students. We feel it is easy to use and gives us a consistent good blood drop for metabolic screens when used correctly.

Nearnik Lancet

Absolutely the best lancet for performing newborn screening. Very seldom have to repeat a stick. In fact, I don’t even stock any other brand. Makes the whole “ordeal “ of getting a sample for NB screening as quick and easy as it can be.

Not the best nick

I have repeatedly had to do a second poke when using this product. The lancing depth/size is not as deep/large as with some other products, resulting in greater difficulty with getting good sized blood drops.

Best lancet available

The NeatNick lancet is the best lancet I have ever used. I have tried all of the competitors and I find the NeatNick to be the best in that I find it very consistent, easy to use, almost never have to prick a newborn twice. I had to use another brand when the NeatNick was unavailable and was terribly disappointed. Just for background, I have worked with babies for over 20 years and have used all sorts of lancers from the metal ones to the modern ones we have available today.

Love the NeatNick!

We've been using this product for several years at our freestanding birth center. It is definitely the best lancet we've ever used to perform heel sticks on newborns.
