Amnicator Test Swab - Amniotic Fluid Detection Device

Amnicaotor for the detection of PROM (premature reupture of fetal membrane).

Amnicator® is a quick, cost effective & reliable tool for the detection of a premature rupture of (fetal) membrane. The simple swab test gives a visible result in 30 seconds. A colour change from yellow to blue (nitrazine indicator) indicates the possible presence of amniotic fluid.

Each Amnicator® test is self contained – with the only additional equipment required being a speculum.

A rapid visible negative result can give reassurance to mother, while positive result indicates further investigation.

Amnicator® swabs are low cost, convenient to carry, and need no special storage.

Used since 2014 with 5 pregnancies

These only turn blue (fully or partially) if the ph indicates amniotic fluid. I have had leaking in some pregnancies that wasn’t amniotic fluid and then times where this helped confirm! Great to have on hand.

    Amnio swab

The swab was defective in my opinion, it partially turned dark blue, but was splotchy. I think it was old or poor quality material. %100 was leaking fluid, bc I was in active labor and my water had broken, and I had a baby less than 5 hours after I tested my fluids. The swab working correctly wouldn't have changed the fact that I had to go to hospital as I was early, however it would have been nice if it was a conclusive test. The applicator tip was saturated in my fluids and only partially turned blue as I previously stated.
